8,000 Women in Tech: GHC Here We Come!

This week I will be in sunny Phoenix to present my work on Tumblr and the fandom experience at the 2014 Grace Hopper Celebration. I will be speaking on the 2nd day of the conference, Thursday Oct 9th, at 5:15pm at the Phoenix Convention Center, room North 121 A-C.

This will be the first time I have attended the event, although I will be going with my lab mate Carolyn Pang (hopefully we will be able to catch the Coyotes play the Jets on the Thursday night) who went last year as a GHC scholar. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is the World’s Largest Gathering of Women Technologists. Their mandate is to connect, inspire, and guide women in computing and organizations and they view technology innovation as a strategic imperative. GHC is produced by the Anita Borg Institute and presented in partnership with ACM.
